Hillman Hunter with Kangaroo (302)

$49.99

One of the most iconic Corgi Toys of the late-60s era, Corgi 302 was modelled on the winner of 1968’s London to Sydney Marathon, a long distance rally that covered over 10,000 miles through Europe, Asia and Australia.

Starting in Crystal Palace, South London, on 24 November and ending in Sydney on 17 December, the Hillman Hunter beat an Austin 1800 into second place – two family cars not otherwise known for their motorsport pedigree! In honour of the rally’s destination, Corgi included a miniature kangaroo with the model.

Featuring ‘Golden Jacks’ take-off wheels and a full racing livery, Corgi 302 was introduced in 1969. It was deleted from the Corgi range in 1972, after sales of just over 150,000.

SizeLength: 107mm Width: 40mm Height: 38mm

NEVER HAD THIS ONE and NOW I DO !!

I never had this model and animal figure when it first came out in the early mid 70’s. Now I do!! This is a great model and packaged so very right! I always loved the animal figures associated with Corgi Toys. Remember the Muira Bull, all the Chipperfield's animals, the horsebox mare & foal, the Daktari Gftset's Clarence &Giraffe, and the Kew Fargo pigs ! These little sculptures really showed the love the company had for their products and the kids who cherished them. Add in golden jacks , removable tires, and the rallye stickers, and this model really is a must have and so special. It is so interactive and a 1970’s dream come true. Superbly painted as well. WELL DONE !

HILLMAN HUNTER

I was anxiously waiting for the Hillman Hunter. This is one of the best models of Corgi to own . I am happy that I have finally managed to get one for myself. Will treasure it for the years ahead.

The mediocre family sedan that could (and did!!)

A gorgeous rendition to one of Corgi’s most loved cars, which paid homage to that Hillman Hunter that against all odds succeeded in such a grueling rally race. My original was well played with, so it was a nice surprise to see it in its pristine beauty (next to Corgi Model Club reproduction). Nice going guys!!!

London to Sydney Hillman Hunter

This car has a very special place in my heart.
My Dad worked for Rootes in Llandudno in the sixties.
Red Garages, Hillman and Sunbeam dealer, had that car for a promotional sales effort, my Dad drove me to Church Road Primary School, in that car; I am 63 now and have never forgotten that trip!

Beautiful Reboot

Thrilled when I received my model. It’s a beautiful reboot of one of my favorite models from my youth. My original one was not played with much and therefore is in pristine condition. Box and kangaroo however are gone. The two are going to be awesome “ bookends “ for my other models. Thanks for a wonderful reproduction!
