Available on its own (as Corgi 490) or as part of the GS36, GS37 and GS12 gift sets, the VW Breakdown Truck utilised tooling from the earlier VW Pick-up (Corgi 431) but without that model’s rear tail-gate. For the Breakdown Truck, the tail-gate was replaced by a winch and hook which was operated by turning a rubber tyre included as part of a clever mechanism.

The rear of the model was given a red plastic moulded tool box (with an integral hinged lid that opened to reveal a set of chrome painted tools) and a pair of spare tyres.The VW Breakdown Truck was available in mustard, tan and white – all variants featuring a red painted VW logo. As part of the gift sets, it came with a matching car trailer which was unavailable separately.

Box came with a little crease but the model was perfect

Never got my truck.

In fact. I have called support three weeks in a row and have not received ANY OF MY CARS. They are always very nice on the phone and say they will “get someone on it” but nothing ever happens.
I am about ready to contact my CC company and have the charges reversed.
