Excellent model replica with good build quality and excellent paint .
This classic British car was modelled by both Dinky and Corgi and is the perfect example of how differently each company approached their models in the early 1960s. Dinky chose the sensible two-door saloon version, whereas Corgi modelled the rather racier fastback coupé. Furthermore, Corgi added an authentic lifting bonnet and a highly detailed engine – including a removable air filter. When you factor in the Corgi’s carefully moulded red interior and ‘Glidamatic’ suspension, it was absolutely no competition as far as schoolboys of the era were concerned!
Corgi’s Herald was launched in 1961 and stayed in the range until 1965. It was available in two versions of the original car’s famous two-tone paintwork – in either gold/white or pale blue/white. Just over 800,000 were made.

231 - Triumph Herald Coupé
My dad had a Triumph Herald cabriolet when I was a child. We moved from Lancaster Pa to Phx Az in it and my moms ‘57 VW Beetle oval window in 1961. I’ve only seen one Herald since in my life time. To me, it’s the best looking Triumph ever made. The Corgi model is excellent and brings back some memories :)
We’re fans, first and foremost. The Corgi Model Club Online Shop is where we can show off our fantastic re-issue models that launch every month and add to our growing collection of gifts for those wanting to re-live special childhood memories. At Corgi Model Club, we believe that if it’s not something that ignites your passion, then it’s probably not something worth doing in the first place.
This approach to business drives everything we do in researching, creating and promoting these fantastic diecast models. We work closely with Hornby PLC every step of the way to re-create products that our collectors are proud to own.
We’ve been working with collectibles for over 30 years and are passionate about creating high quality models that ignite our collectors passions too.
We have worked hard to establish a great working relationship with
Hornby who we have given us the exclusive rights to re-produce some of the rarest and sought after models from their 1960’s catalogues.
The model was a perfect rendition of the original.
