The Batmobile was introduced into the Corgi range after the popularity of the 1966 Batman TV series starring Adam West (as Batman) and Burt Ward (as Robin). With a wealth of features – notably a triple rocket launcher armed with small plastic missiles, a front-mounted pop-out chain cutter and a turbo exhaust flame that pulsed in and out – the model was an instant success and has since achieved legendary status among collectors.

This Corgi Model Club edition marks the first time the Corgi Batmobile has been in production for many years – a heavy die-cast metal replica of the iconic late-1960s tooling, with all of the original's features. We’ve also given it the much sought after gold wheels with red bat logos, plus Batman and Robin figures – Batman in grey as per the original issue. These details mean a lot to us here at the Corgi Model Club, as we’re sure they do to you too!

The Batmobile comes complete with its late 1960s-era packaging – a classic illustrated Corgi picture box that houses the model sitting on a plinth with decorative winged sides and back – a beautifully created facsimile of the original. Within the base are twelve small missiles for the fully working rocket launcher, plus an envelope containing an instruction sheet as well as that all important Batman lapel sticker!

Nostalgia from a simpler time

I remember being a kid in the early 70's and my cousin had this batmobile. It was something I always marvelled at with a bit of jealousy, but my cousin would always let me play with it, when we visited.

Now I have one of my own, plus all the retro packaging and accessories.

I am now in my late 50's and finally can marvel and fondly recall the fun it it use to being.

A very faithful rendering and worth every penny.

The Awesome Batmobile - Corgi 267

When my pre-ordered re-issued gloss black Batmobile arrived, I was almost as thrilled as I was when as a kid I received my original Batmobile for a birthday gift from my mom and grandmother in 1968. The Batmobile re-issue is true to the original Batmobile which I still have today. The Batmobile is one of the most popular Corgi Toys, perhaps second only to the James Bond Aston Martin DB5, for good reason. The Batmobile is awesome because of its cool working functions, iconic stylized body, seated classic Batman and Robin figures bringing the Batmobile to life and the fit-to-box colorful display presentation. The re-issued Batmobile, alongside my original Batmobile, makes for a favorite addition to my growing Corgi Toy collection. Thank you Corgi Model Club for rekindling my fond childhood memories!
