I had one of these when I was eight years old. Never knew what happened to it. Fifty eight years later I decided to buy this reissue. How very much this model is like the original I had all those years ago. Down to every detail and also the box it comes in. Go get one you won’t be disappointed!
When my pre-ordered re-issued gloss black Batmobile arrived, I was almost as thrilled as I was when as a kid I received my original Batmobile for a birthday gift from my mom and grandmother in 1968. The Batmobile re-issue is true to the original Batmobile which I still have today. The Batmobile is one of the most popular Corgi Toys, perhaps second only to the James Bond Aston Martin DB5, for good reason. The Batmobile is awesome because of its cool working functions, iconic stylized body, seated classic Batman and Robin figures bringing the Batmobile to life and the fit-to-box colorful display presentation. The re-issued Batmobile, alongside my original Batmobile, makes for a favorite addition to my growing Corgi Toy collection. Thank you Corgi Model Club for rekindling my fond childhood memories! Please keep those Corgi Toy re-issues coming!
I am so soled about Corgi going back and recreating vehicles from our childhood. The fact we can get faithful recreations of the batmobile, first Aston Martin and the yellow sub just gives us a taste of a simpler time.
These are great. Now let’s get the Green Hornet, Buck Rogers and the Supermobile.
Love it so much!! I still have my original but the tires are somewhat bare threaded and the paint a little scratched and pitted from years of play. Mint condition side by side with the 1968 original is awesome!!
This car is awesome. It looks very much like the one Brian Bedford drove in the 1966 racing epic Grand Prix.
Design and construction fantastic as usual. Details and paint equally fine.
