155 - Lotus - Climax Formula 1 Racing Car

$39.99

Nothing typifies mid-to-late 1960s Corgis like this wonderful Lotus-Climax racing car. It was a must-have for schoolboys of the era, introduced in December 1964, just in time for Christmas. Based on Colin Chapman’s streamlined design that first raced in 1962 and was famously driven by Jim Clark, this superb Corgi is painted in a classic ‘British racing green’ livery, with a yellow racing stripe and that all important number one decal.

Strangely, the box illustration showed the car with a number four. Best of all, it came with a miniature driver, perfect for holding your own Grand Prix on the living room carpet! It was deleted in 1975, by which time racing cars looked very different indeed.

Great old classic.

Nice remake of a classic. Heavy and well built. Just like the original.

The car that I won many races with

Another great Corgi from the past has hit the streets! This Lotus Climax is every bit as detailed as the original. I hope that Corgi brings back the other F1 cars as well as the VW truck and trailer from the past. “Gentlemen, you have a race!”

Better than I even imagined!

The car looks great, better than I expected. Great quality, great paint finish. Plus I got the garage attendants for free. Packaging is perfect as well.
