155 - Lotus - Climax Formula 1 Racing Car

$39.99

Nothing typifies mid-to-late 1960s Corgis like this wonderful Lotus-Climax racing car. It was a must-have for schoolboys of the era, introduced in December 1964, just in time for Christmas. Based on Colin Chapman’s streamlined design that first raced in 1962 and was famously driven by Jim Clark, this superb Corgi is painted in a classic ‘British racing green’ livery, with a yellow racing stripe and that all important number one decal.

Strangely, the box illustration showed the car with a number four. Best of all, it came with a miniature driver, perfect for holding your own Grand Prix on the living room carpet! It was deleted in 1975, by which time racing cars looked very different indeed.

SizeLength: 98mm Width: 40mm Height: 23mm

Exactly the same size as the opriginal!

Just saw comments hear saying the Lotus is a different scale from the original, but that's not true! I still have my original from 1966, and this is precisely the same scale. It looks perfect!

Perfect replica of my original!

I still have my original that my Mom bought for me in 1966, and side by side, these are indistinguishable! I just love these painstakingly accurate Corgi reproductions! Right down to the box details (including how COrgi often has the wrong colours on the box, or a different racing number than the miniature itself!

I thought it was a copy
It's 1/64th not 1/43rd like the original
