DS19 in Monte Carlo Trim (323)

$39.99

The Citroen DS19 was first tooled by Corgi at the beginning of 1957 (as Corgi 210) and is notable for being the first ever non-British car in the Corgi range. It was updated in 1960, as Corgi 210S, given a moulded interior, a steering wheel and ‘Glidamatic’ suspension.

Five years later it was revived yet again, this time in a topical Monte Carlo livery. Available on its own or as part of the ‘GS 38’ gift set – together with a Mini Cooper and a Rover 2000 – it was produced for just one year, from 1965 to 1966. The Monte Carlo Rally version was given a pale blue body and a white roof, whereas the earlier Corgi 210S, which had identical tooling, came in red. Both featured the same yellow interior.

Beautifully French!!

I never thought about it, but this is my very first French Corgi from the 60’s and I am so happy that it is now part of my collection. The baby powder blue paint job is superb and it goes so well with the tainted yellow interior and jewel spot lights!!
