On January 16, 2026, I purchased the Corgi 270 Aston Martin because it was in the newly released silver color; except that it has a gold colored front grille and bumper. I don't really like the gold grille and bumper, but since that was the only option, I purchased it. Literally one week later, Corgi / Hornby Hobbies released a second 270 model, only with the grille and rear bumper painted silver to match the rest of the car. THAT's the model I would have purchased if the company released the two models at the same time. Customer Service told me I could buy that all-silver model for another $82.99 U.S.dollars. Seriously? Not quite a bait and switch scheme. But a rotten way to treat their customers. They should have released both models at the same time to give their customers a choice. I could return the model I purchased, and buy the all silver model, but that would cost an extra $20-30 U.S. in shipping. Why should I end up paying more money to buy the model I wanted had it been offered in a timely manner? Awful way to treat their customers.
Love it! Brings me back to great tv shows!
For some reason I have never managed to buy a vintage version of this DB5--in all the years I have collected corgis, I have a few different variants in different sizes, including a gold plated 40th anniversary edition, but none of them have the red tire slashers, and I don't think I ever saw one with the plastic clamshell packing still there. These really came out beautifully--I haven't actually taken the car out of the package to see how well the features work, so I won't speculate too much--I did take the earlier version DB5 reissue out of the box and everything was working properly. The prices to get these corgis overseas now is way higher than originally, so I'm not inclined to damage the packaging and I'm more selective about which releases I am actually buying. That said I am very very glad I got this model and have been watching for it since I joined the membership.
