Chrysler Imperial Blue (246)

$49.99

The ‘kingfisher’ blue Chrysler Imperial, is a rare version of Corgi 246’s more typical red – a model that itself was only in the Corgi range for two short years, between 1965 and 1967. The blue variant has all the features of its red counterpart, including an ingenious
‘secret’ bonnet-opening mechanism, operated by pushing the model down on the front axle.

This classic 1960s Corgi Toy additionally came with opening doors, tilting seats, two figures (with the female passenger being considerably smaller than the male driver) and a boot/trunk that lifted to reveal a ‘surprise’ miniature set of golf clubs and caddy. The ‘kingfisher’ blue Corgi 246 is thought to have been lined up for production, with only a small number actually produced, for reasons now unknown. Not surprisingly, original examples are highly prized and sought after by Corgi collectors.
