330 - Porsche Carrera 6

$39.99

Originally only available for two years – between 1967 and 1969 – this detailed Porsche Carrera 6 is typical of the high quality models Corgi produced during their ‘golden era’. Whereas it was only available in white, there were two versions, with either a red or blue bonnet and doors – the latter being much rarer. The tinted clear plastic in the rear section that hinges upwards to reveal a detailed chrome and black engine, was based on a similar feature on the actual car.

The red bonnet version utilised a deep blue plastic but for the blue bonnet model it was either yellow or pale blue. As was frustratingly typical for many Corgi’s of this period, the box art depicted a totally different colour car – in this case, green! Corgi later reissued the red bonnet version during the 1970s Whizzwheels era.

Fantastic Car!

My Dad bought me the Red and White version of this car when I was a young boy - after I had stared and stared at it in a display case. I don't know what happened to that car, but this car is excellent, feels the same as I remember and preserves those memories of my Dad when I see it on my desk every day. Highly recommended!

I saw this and I remember...

We were poor folks in the late 60s and early 70s. My Mother took us kids to work with her on a Saturday and she could get her work finished. We went to lunch that day and Mom took me to a big toy store in Louisville, Ky. I saw this model and I remember how beautiful it was and the price was $20.00 US that was heavy money in the early 70s. I dreamed of owning such a fancy model but I soon forgot because it was so expensive. At the end of Moms hard day she asked me to help her...she pulled out this Porsche and I hugged and kissed her... the tears are flowing... Thanks for building this masterpiece!

The cutest Porsche

Proportions are respected, the model rolls on the road with Porsche-like aplomb.

The detailing is very nice however the hood is a bit wobbly.
