325 - Ford Mustang Fastback 2 + 2 Competition Model

Based on the slightly earlier ‘non-competition’ CorgiFord Mustang, number 320, which was launched in April 1965, this new motor racing version was in the shops just in time for Christmas. Both models were given a host of features such as opening doors and tilting seats – all very innovative for the time. With a sleek white body and twin red bonnet stripes, this new racing model sensibly omitted the previous version’s small plastic corgi dog on the parcel shelf.

Eagle-eyed enthusiasts will also have noted that the tiny AA badge on the rear of the older model was deleted for this new version – a laudable attention to detail that goes a long way to explaining Corgi’s enduring popularity.

1965 Mustang

Great piece , I have an original one and this one s a perfect copy with cleaner parting lines

A very nice rendition of the classic Mustang

This is a very nice Mustang with great detail. It reminds me very much of the Mustang that I once drove into the ocean. But it floated well, so I drove it all the way to Japan and became a Sumo wrestler! Thanks to Corgi I can now admire this classic Mustang as I enjoy my Saki and sushi.
